GEORGE (SANDY) CUFF JR.

Born and raised on this farm, he is the 5th generation Cuff to farm this land in Hortonia. His great-great grandfather, Alexander (arriving from Ireland in 1849), his great-grandfather George, his grandfather Clarence, his father George Sr. all walked this same land in this section of Outagamie County and farmed before him. The combined homestead and adjoining farms over the years have seen cows, cash crop grains, hogs, strawberries, produce and fall pumpkins over the past 5 generations. After graduating from Hortonville High School, he attended Eau Claire technical School and graduated with a two year associate degree in restaurant management. He met his wife, Lois, in the white Heron Chorale and married in 1986. He hopes to be farming well into his golden years. All the tasks he hated as a kid he loves doing now. The aches and pains of farming make him feel alive. He is energized by the many challenges and feels fortunate to be in a position to still live on the land and operate this business. He feels very blessed to have his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren working with him into the future.

LOIS SCHMIDT-CUFF

Born in Kaukauna, she was not raised on a farm. Lois graduated from UW Madison with a BM in Music Education, and returned for a Masters in Educational Administration, a certification in Curriculum and Instruction from UWO and a certification in Superintendency from UW Milwaukee. With 36 years in education as a teacher, Principal and Superintendent, she supported Sandy on the farm by helping whenever and wherever she could. Retired from her career in education, she now assists in many farm tasks from behind-the-scenes bookwork, managing the bank accounts, hiring, ordering supplies, inventory, customer communication and servicing, bale painting and vision. She is so happy to be able to hand off many tasks to her daughter, Maggie. She feels fortunate to be living the country lifestyle and loves her new role as Grandma.

MAGGIE SUDBRINK

Maggie is the dreamer and the one behind most of the new ideas. She is also the face behind all social media, doughnut making, and canned goods. She is passionate about connecting people to their food, the farm, and their farmers and believes that supporting local farms and businesses can transform our communities. She grew up on the farm and left only for college. Her and Alex live in the fixed-up farm house she dreamed of since about 10 years old, adjoining to Cuff Farms. She spends the majority of her time wrangling their three free-range boys, William (6), Elliott (4), and Wesley (2).
